Montgomery County Considers Bag Tax

SILVER SPRING, Md.- The nation's capital might soon find company in charging a tax on plastic bags at stores that sell food and alcohol: Montgomery County might soon apply a 5-cent bag fee.

County Executive Ike Leggett says the county could raise $1 million in the first year of implementation, in addition to reducing waste.
