Water taxi! If
you were looking this summer for a lift when downtown by the Inner Harbor,
you could have headed to
the corner of Pratt and Light streets. "We
wanted to create something humorous," says artist Mike
Anthony, who created this character with Sarah Barnes. "Baltimore is known
for fish, so we figured a water taxi would be recognizable." Anthony
is a sculptor with a background in painting. He says he was happy the project enabled
him to give back to the community. It
was also nice "to get art work out of the gallery and put it into a public
space," he says.
