the holding cell

This orange suit awaits the next prisoner who will be executed in Maryland.

Hours before the inmate is to be killed by lethal injection, he's brought to this holding cell in the Metropolitan Transition Center in Baltimore. Here, the prisoner also receives a pair of tennis shoes with no shoe strings, since the strings could be used to make a noose. He is given a final meal and a visit from clergy, family and attorneys.
